Wedding in Trinity Church catered by Hog Roast Aylesbury!

Hog Roast Aylesbury had agreed to meet up with Debbie and Phil at Trinity Church in Harrow just after Christmas, 4th. January. Although the wedding was a simple affair it was still important to check out the lay of the land. The numbers had steadily been going up and it was becoming increasingly vital to understand all the important bits.

I arrived in good time at the church and realised that this was a large venue. It was a place that both Phil and Debbie spent a lot of time. Their lives were very much a caring approach to the community.

The numbers were looking like 175 guests and there was a slight look of worry of Phil and Debbies face. I soon realised that I had to take control and lead them through the possibilities and make sure that they were comfortable and relaxed. Firstly Hog Roast Aylesbury absorbed all the requirements and understood that they had divided up tasks, areas and duties. This made it very easy for us and hopefully straight forward to deliver on requirements. We went through timings, layout and dietary needs. Some were slightly unusual, but my task was to listen and provide solutions. Within the hour both Phil and Debbie were smiling and pleased to say that they felt relaxed. I guess that meant that I now had all the pressure to deliver on the day. All in all it was, as I said, simple. They were having the service in the main part of the church for about 200. This was followed by drinks and canapes in an annexe. Whilst this was all going on we had to clear the church and put out the table and chairs + lay up. There was no time for guests to linger. This was the plan. We had 45 minutes for food service, seconds and clearing.

The most important thing was that we had a workable plan, the bride and groom were happy.

The day was much as planned, the weather was fine and parking spaces had been kept. What more could we want.. Staff arrived on time and we waited to swing into action. Whilst we were cooking the lamb, roasted root vegetables and risolee potatoes we checked all the finer points. We had gluten free, and various other allergens that had to be noted. It is extraordinary that the half dozen with dietary requirements can produce as much as the rest of the menu. Certain guests were allergic to butter and certain types of oil. However all accommodated.

Everything went to plan and guests behaved as indeed did the helpers and of course our staff.

Service was all over within the allotted time and Hog Roast Aylesbury started to clear down. We had to be clear so that the kitchen that we had use of was ready for the evening shift. Volunteers were due to prepare food for the local homeless.

Yes, all was good and we left all as we found. The bride and groom were happy and much relieved.
