How do I book?
You can book, either by phone or email. We’ll then set up the paperwork.
How do I pay?
Either by bank transfer or by cheque or cash.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. It sets the whole process in motion and confirms the date between us both.
What is the minimum number of guests?
No minimum, just how many makes a party.
How much space do I need?
As much as possible, but we can set up, cook and serve within about 3metres x 3metres
Do we need logs?
No. We cook the hog roast with gas without any mess and take everything that we come with.
How long does it take to cook a pig?
It takes about one hour for every 10 kilos. Usually between 3 to 6 hours.
When will you arrive?
We will arrive about six to four hours before your chosen serve time
What do I need to provide?
Easy access, not too many steps !!
Ideally we need a 13 amp socket within 10 metres. If not, it is not a problem, just let us know.
Essentially all you need to do is greet guests.
How long will it take to serve all our guests?
This is usually up to you. Just need to talk it through.
What happens if you run out?
We always over cater.
How many will a pig feed?
Leave it up to us. The size will be based on the number of guests.
If it rains, can you serve inside?
Can you cook inside?
Yes, subject to layout, and any local fire regulations.
Do you cater for vegetarians?
Yes. It always helps to have rough numbers.
Can you supply us with a free range pig?
Yes. They cost a little more.
We have another competitive quote, but you look more efficient and professional, can we discuss?
Yes. Always glad to discuss.
What is the difference between the machine hire including the pig or having someone to cook the meat for you?
The main difference between both of these options is that the hire is our D.I.Y option and if it is what you are thinking about choosing you can either supply your own meat or we can provide this for you, you can then cook this on the machine supplied from us. If however you choose the full catering option our Spitting Pig chef and catering assistants will come to your event and do all of the work for you.
Have I left it too late?
Every week we receive calls from clients that have either been let down by another hog roasting company or have decided they want a hog roast at their event last minute. As long as we have enough time to order and receive our meat and have a Spitting pig Chef available it is never too late to book with us, however if our chef is not available why not take a look at our machine hire option that we have to offer?
I want to hire a machine because I want catering for more than one event and thing this will be a good way to save money, but have never used one. Are they difficult to use?
We will give you a full step by step set of instructions on how to use the machine so you have nothing to worry about when it arrives and if you are still unsure about anything then give us a quick call, we are happy to help.
How much does it cost?
We price all of our events individually, so we will send out your quote taking the number of people, the location and the date into consideration and try to stay within your budget.
Will there be a lot of mess for me to clear away afterwards?
Not at all… we clear and tidy away any mess that we have made on site and take it away with us so you wont need to clean up any of the mess we may have made.

Not only do we just supply catering for events, we supply a do it yourself option, the option for our chef to come prepare and cook the meat and the option for our spitting pig waiters and waitresses to serve the meat once our fully qualified chef has cooked it and he will also carve it for you too. We have no hidden charges here at Spitting Pig, travel costs, staff and cutlery are all included in your quote so you have nothing to worry about at the end of the day because we make sure you know about all fees upfront.
