Hog Roast Prestwood  For Lara, who had been placed in charge of organising a proper send-off feast, Hog Roast Preston was everything she had been looking for, and more. When the client first approached us, she told us all about the cycling group she was part of, and how their collective goal was to travel the 874 mile distance from John o’ Groats to Land’s End.

But before they set off on the extremely gruelling, yet equally rewarding two-week adventure between Britain’s two extremities, the thrill-seeking group of 39 (made up of 24 adults and 15 children) were eager to signal the beginning of their journey with a traditional hog roast buffet – and what could be better for the job than our classic hog roast menu?

Handling the event, Hog Roast Preston catering duo Shaun and Lou arrived on-site to whip up a glorious feast which consisted of mixed garden salad and creamy coleslaw with sides of sliced fruit. For the main course, the team prepared one of our famous slow roasted pigs with all the traditional accompaniments including crispy crackling and savoury stuffing, which were opposed by the meat-free alternatives of grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers and BBQ pulled jackfruit.

A large basket of gluten-free rolls was also included in the feast, allowing the guests to experiment with unique flavour combinations and create completely custom meals for themselves. Adding a unique twist to this event, the food (once cooked) was boxed up and delivered to each of the individual groups along with our eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery.

As always, Shaun and Lou completely nailed it and the sublime banquet of rich flavours was the perfect start to the journey the cyclists were about to make.
