One of my favourite settings for any hog roast catered event has got to be somewhere a little off the beaten track, surrounded by the beautiful English countryside and in the case of our event in Blyth last month, in a spectacular barn conversion! With summer now over and the colder evenings rolling in, Bill and Jane’s golden wedding anniversary celebration was the perfect Autumn warmer. With the barn decorated with pretty fairy lights and a warm log fire burning away, I knew this was going to be a party to remember!
As the barn was very well ventilated, we were able to cook the Hog Roast Blyth inside which was a lovely feature as you really feel like a part of the party! With just under 100 family and friends joining the happy couple, they had opted for one of our classic hog (yet never the less very special!) menus. We arrived on site around 6 hours before guests arrive to set up our equipment and to get the beautiful free-range pig gently cooking away over open flames. As with all of our hogs, we whip up a delicious homemade apple sauce and comforting sage and onion stuffing on site to accompany the succulent meat – it has to be one of the most loved food combinations ever created!
With the party in full swing, it was finally time to serve up some food. A queue formed at our stall as we carved melt in the mouth chunks of meat to be piled high on fresh floured bread rolls, topped with those delicious homemade condiments. And let’s not forget our brilliant golden crackling which had an entire queue of its own – with guests nibbling on pieces off their plates before they had even got back to their tables!
As with all events, we serve up our Hog Roast Blyth food designed around your individual needs and requirements and are always happy to box up any leftovers you have – after all it’s your food! We then discreetly tidy away our equipment and dispose of any rubbish to really help your event run smoothly, minimising any clearing up that you may have to do!
What a fantastic party catered for by ourselves at Hog Roast Blyth. We wish Eric and Sue many more happy years together – congratulations!
