This is an event we have done for the last three years and so we were glad to back down in High Wycombe again. As before it was in the same spot in the garden. It is one of those events that needs a helping hand. Fortunately the lads are all rugby players and love to show us how strong they are. I normally send Claire who has a strong Burley accent which is a little unusual in that part of the world. Once set up it is the long wait whilst piggy cooks. The aromas as always attracting all sorts of favourable comments – no it’s not ready. This time the timings were changed . Guests were due for 4.00 with the hog at 6.00-6.30 pm. It was not a problem although obviously the pig would be ready to go. We just hold on one burner which still keeps everything moist and succulent.
This was a cricket weekend and so there was the chance to get regular updates and the occasional viewing of the match. Also the rugby was on (England versus Wales), but the less said about that the better.
In previous years the numbers have been over a hundred but this was just a small gathering to celebrate an anniversary and a little lower in guests.
