Wedding – Bloxham

It’s been a great few weeks for us at Bloxham. We may not have had typical glorious summer weather but we’ve managed to have a great summer so far, with events booked throughout June and July.

We have just done a lovely wedding in a local stately home and everything about the day was first class. A beautiful location, smashing people and the rain held off just long enough for the photographs. It didn’t matter that it bucketed down for the rest of the evening. It didn’t even matter that the two young page boys came back inside having seemingly been playing in a mud bath – in their formal day wear. And it didn’t matter that yours truly volunteered and got up for the late night karaoke (thankfully!)

It was a lovely day all round and great fun – as well as being a traditional, romantic occasion. It’s so nice to be a part of people’s celebrations and it’s great for us to see that more and more people are now realising we’re more than just outside event caterers.
It’s an easy mistake to make when we’re so good at providing tasty hog roasts from our catering Bloxham trailer at events like fairs, markets, concerts and racecourses.

But people are starting to realise that we cater for all types of function too and, believe it or not, we don’t even have to do hog roasts (if not required). All false modesty aside, we are first and foremost exceptional caterers, with over 20 years’ experience in the catering industry. Our customers see our operating standards for outstanding fresh food and customer service and that is why we get so many repeat bookings.

Of course, it makes good business sense to still advertise and have a presence in local county publications. But most of our bookings still come from either direct contact with clients (serving them food at events) or recommendations. But we take nothing for granted and continue to work hard to keep improving our service to customers, accommodating their needs whatever their culinary tastes.

Of course, we still specialise on our uniquely tasty hog roast but we can provide any course requested. For example, at the wedding, we served our usual hog roast but some guests opted for pheasant – which just goes to prove the range of our catering services. All we need are the customer’s menu ideas (which we can collaborate and advise on) and we then do the rest, with fresh food bought and prepared on the day at the venue.

From the feedback we got from the wedding guests and the venue owners, we are hoping to get further work from recommendation and look forward to catering at the beautiful stately home again. It is lovely to prepare food in such a historical place and step outside to look on the ancient woodland. I’m not sure the guests felt the same warmth when they heard my singing, but my defence is that the bride asked me – and the room was half empty even before I started warbling!
