Toyota Hog Roast, Wallington.

The Bonfire week started early, assuming that there is a difference between Halloween and Guy Fawkes fire work displays. This event was for Toyota. It was a venue that we had been to before, but on this occasion none of us had been there. I had obviously sent a different crew for last year’s hog roast in Wallington. We set off early morning in anticipation of delays on the M25. I had forgotten that it was half term and actually quieter than usual. We came off at the Lower Kingswood turn and were well on schedule.
The venue itself was the car park where there were numerous stalls ready for Krispy Kreme donuts and a competing hot dog stand. This was all being run by the on-site contractor. It was not really competition, but just another offering. Last year there had been over 700 attendees and like any of these corporate events there is usually no way of second guessing numbers. Our hog roast in Wallington set up was made all the easier with a gazebo in place, bins at hand and a supply of electricity. They had even sorted water via a makeshift stand pipe. However a little chlorinated but we soon sorted that pulling through some water.

Soon the Hog Roasts in Wallington were on and we were chilling until we needed to do the final preparations. This gave us a chance to have a coffee in the foyer which had the range of Toyota and Lexus cars. As we got closer we did all the final preparations to be ready for the 6.00pm onslaught. This was preceded by all the workers having to move their cars in readiness for the fireworks. The display was down one end of the car park, thus ensuring that all the necessary distances were being observed. We watched the display and served the guests. Numbers were a little down but most importantly everyone was happy. For this one we had changed the baker which made the whole package better.
As soon as the fireworks were over we served a few more, but most of the staff left and so we were able to pack up and clear our area. A wonderfully friendly event with the chance of doing it again.
