Seafood Evening, Hog Roast Moreton Morrell.

In amongst taking bookings, finalising plans for the week’s events, I decide to do a rather lavish Seafood evening for my local Real Tennis Club at Moreton Morrell. The dinner was mid week and although only for 20 guests there seem to be lot of work. The preparation takes a considerable amount of time.
The menu was as follows .. Sharing Platters – offering a selection of seafoods with Artisan breads, Beetroot Gravadlax + Finest Scottish Smoked Salmon, freshly steamed Mussels with white wine, coconut, chilli and coriander, Boquerones, Garlic Prawns and Smoked Tilapia Arancini. Followed by the Main Course of Baked Sea Bass fillet, steamed Samphire and shrimp beurre blanc and fresh Vegetables. Then for dessert – Vanilla Panna cotta with Rhubarb Compote.

This was all matched by a couple of wines on each course..  Mark Savage the wine importer did a talk on the pairing of wines. It was interesting for us at hog roast Moreton Morrell because Mark chooses to import and sell only the wines he likes. He even goes on to say that he chooses his customers in the same way.
Moreton Morrell is the home to a Real Tennis Court , which I play weekly. People often think that we are being rather silly calling it this, but it is what it is with some 50-60 courts in the world. The UK has about 24 courts of which there are 43 courts in the world. The most famous of players was Henry VIII who played at Hampton Court. He had the court constructed in 1530.
The dinner went incredibly well with a standing ovation and tumultuous thanks for hog roast Moreton Morrell.
All went well and it was nice to get back into having a few events during the week as well.
