This was the continuation of a busy week. A machine had to be delivered for a hog roast in Chalfont St. Giles for 11.00 am. The venue was a retirement home, although with a slight difference. The properties were all like normal houses on an estate. They were maintained and serviced by staff on site. There was also a local dining area and bar run as a commercial restaurant. This was where the hog roast in Chalfont St. Giles was required for. I arrived on time and set up the machine and ensured that the chef + assistant were fully conversant with the machine. Fortunately Rob was very switched on and took to the whole cooking and serving process like a duck to water. It was then a rather long trip to collect a machine that had been on hire for a couple of weeks. Probably the hardest part of the journey was a rather narrow lane between the two Chalfonts (St. Giles and St. Peters). Once I got to the motorway it was fairly plain sailing, although making sure that I went via the M5 due to an overturned lorry on the M6 junction 7-8. The collection was from Muller Dairy and seemed fairly simple, however the journey I was not looking forward to. Although it was 3.00pm, it meant that I would be back around Spaghetti junction at 4.00pm. Not a good time to be there, plus the earlier accident of the overturned lorry was not yet cleared. I therefore took the M5 again and along the M42 to get back home.
