Counrty House Hotel Hog Roast in Marlow

This was a venue that I wisely did a pre event visit to. The House is set in Higginson Park in Marlow with wonderful views of the Thames. However it is set with a large car park at the fore, which has locked barriers. The visit and liaison with the Events Manager revealed that I would need special access and furthermore the setting was in the middle of a public park. It all meant that I had to be more diligent with the set up and mindful of all the possible health and safety issues with ‘Jo public’ on the doorstep.

Court Garden House

Hog Roast Marlow Team arrived a little early to set up. The park was already busy with people jogging, exercising with their personal trainers. I almost felt as if I could join in. However I am far to unfit and certainly not invited (or paying!). To be fair setting up and lugging everything backwards and forwards was probably enough for me. The day was pleasantly sunny and was due to be very hot (into the thirties possibly). The venue was not unlocked until 8am and so we made do without electricity, cooking the Pig in a tray. As the venue opened we could at last get a coffee and had access to water.

The wedding was actually being held at the venue and gave us a front row seat. We were cooking on the verandah just outside the room that was holding the ceremony. Best behaviour was called for. Once it was over we moved in to set up the buffet tables, and not forgetting to cook the lamb.

The hog roast menu today in Marlow also had dishes for vegans, small children and also quite a few vegetarians.

All was good with guests enjoying the choice of meats and even tucking into the children’s pastas. There was plenty to go round with lots left over and even some for the staff at the venue.

In fact it was all so good that the venue would like to use us as a partner and enhance the work that they already do.

The Hog Roast team look forward to working with the Court Garden House team – Marlow again soon!
