This was a nice early start with staff gathering at 5.00 am, fortunately they’re a good bunch who have been with me for some 5/6 years. In fact the chef on this occasion used to work for me in the Restaurant that we had for nearly twenty years. It all helps to keep the nerves in tact !
Hog Roast Maidenhead all traveled down to Hurley in several vans & cars. As promised we arrived at the village hall in Hurley just after 7.00. Although fairly blustery we were well sheltered. Once we had got in it was a simple set up under a covered area at the rear of the building. The father of the bride joined us and we ran through the days proceedings. It probably wasn’t strictly necessary, since Emma had done a fifteen page document with all the details for the day. It had a schedule, contact names, and broken down as to who was where during the make-up and hair preparations. Much of it did not involve us and so nice and simple.
The menu was a simple Cotswold Spring Lamb and the good old faithful Spit Roasted pig with various salads. I ran through the layout and the day’s proceedings with the staff. I had to be somewhere else just north of High Wycombe at another wedding.
Hog Roast Maidenhead were ‘on it’ and politely ushered me out – well what was I paying them for !!
I then popped back to base for a quick load up, and I was soon on my way.
