We’ve just provided a lovely feast for a little girl’s mid-week christening, where we created a showpiece of a Hog Roast Longwick that was eaten together with lots of fresh and tasty vegetables and potatoes. While the blessing was being performed in-church, our team set up our equipment in the back garden of the family home. Elsa’s parents had asked us for our winter warmer menu, which includes a stunning Hog Roast Longwick slow roasted for a few hours and their choice of veggies and potatoes; in this case, they asked us for Elsa’s personal favourites of butternut squash, carrots, and sweet peppers, as well as new potatoes, so that if she didn’t want to eat the pork, she still had other food she would enjoy on her special day.
Elsa’s mum needed a gluten-free option, and the whole winter warmer was all suitable for her, including our homemade apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing. When it comes to munching away on our pigs in buns (as these family members have done in the recent past) we can even provide suitable bread rolls so that you’re not missing out on eating the same scrumptious menu as everyone else.
Earlier today, we cracked on with getting the gazebo set up and preparing the meat, and after scoring it and adding water and salt, we could sit back and watch as it roasted away. We’re not lazy, honestly! We just need to keep a careful eye on the pig and machine just in case. Our machines are powered by gas so you don’t want the flame to go out unnoticed, leaving everyone hungry.
A few short hours later and it was time add the vegetables and new potatoes to the machine, and they were soon cooking away beautifully too.
Elsa, her parents and the guests for this intimate party arrived home to the gorgeous smells that our local, free-range beast had created. Elsa was very excited and couldn’t wait to try it but we still had to dish out the sauces and stuffing and sort out our tasty gravy. Soon, the guests were enjoying a comforting winter warmer Hog Roast Longwick to help keep away the chilly air, and even the youngest of them all absolutely loved all of our food.
