On the 14th of June, Hog Roast Hatfield catered for a wonderful party to celebrate Nick’s mums 90th birthday. The party was wonderfully organised, with 45 guests invited to join in with the celebrations. Our catering manager Craig needed to create a menu that would be perfect for every guest to enjoy for lunch, with plenty of different dishes to enjoy. He worked with Nick to plan a great menu, with a classic hog roast as the star of the show!
On the day of the party, Craig and the Hog Roast Hatfield team arrived at the venue at Pooh Corner, Oxon, in the morning. We needed plenty of time to slow-roast the hog to perfection before the midday serving time, so we wasted no time in getting to work. We allowed the hog to roast to perfection for around five hours, before being expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing and homemade applesauce. Additionally, we provided grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, served with tzatziki dip and sweet and punchy sweet chilli sauce for meat-free guests. The mains were accompanied by herb dressed new potatoes, a tomato and mozzarella salad, a mixed green leaf salad, and our gourmet coleslaw. Overall, this created a wonderful buffet menu for the party guests to enjoy, with more than enough to go around. It was great to see everyone enjoying our catering and celebrating such a special 90th birthday!
