There’s always something special about returning to a venue, and for our Hog Roast Banbury team catering for All Aces Couriers this December felt like going back to a familiar location. This year marked our third time providing food for their staff, family, and friends, and the welcome was as warm as ever.
Our catering manager Craig and the Hog Roast Banbury team, were at work bright and early, well before the serve time of 12:30pm, with lunchtime feast ahead of us and 250 hungry mouths to feed, Craig ensured the event would run smoothly and all details were considered before the guests started personalising their plates.
The events of the day showed us how much pride the company takes in bringing everyone together, not just their employees but the people behind them, their families who share the unpredictable shifts and late finishes that often come with courier life. The menu was designed with variety and comforting flavours in mind, ideal for a December afternoon and a large guest list.
The meat of choice was of course, our crowd-pleaser, the slow roasted pig. The meat of choice is slow roasted on site and carved in front of our guests for another interactive and personable touch. We know that although the meat is the star of the show on a roast, everyone loves a variety of sides, our guests could load up their plates to their hearts content, whether they wanted a little bit of everything or multiple helpings of their favourites. On offer for this event were: creamy cauliflower cheese, a vegetable medley of glazed sprouts, green beans, peas, and glazed carrots, pigs in blankets, crispy roasted potatoes and rich gravy to smother over the entire plate.
We always ensure that all of our guests can be a part of our tasty feasts, which is why we cater for all dietary requirements. The vegetarian/vegan option gave non-meat eaters something substantial and flavourful with our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers or BBQ pulled jackfruit. Everything was served up alongside fresh bread rolls/wraps which could be gluten free upon request.
And what’s a good feast without a sweet treat to finish on? Which is why, just when our guests thought they couldn’t possibly stomach any more tasty treats, we offered up an indulgent chocolate yule log served with cream.
As we took in everything around us, what stood out most was the sense of community. The staff got lost in conversation and everyone seemed to finally take a breath after a long year. The All Aces team works at a fast pace all year round, so seeing them sit back with good food and good company was worth the effort behind the scenes. Being invited back a third time says a lot about the trust built over the years, and it was a pleasure once again bringing our Hog Roast Banbury setup to their festive gathering.
