It’s always good to get invited back especially the second time in just over 7 months. We had done a Hog Roast during the middle to late part of last year. It was again for 450 workers. It was an early start on both occasions. It meant leaving at 4.00 am or thereabouts. This time I travelled down separately. It was important that I met the client, since there had been so many e-mails and conversations. The journey was initially down the Fosse and off through Andoversford. A place we know well for hiring all of our catering equipment.
Hog roast Andoversford arrived on site at about 5.30 am. It was particularly easy in that the set up was in the same spot as before and since the lads had worked there before it was all straight forward. Caroline was there to meet us and was immediately sorting coffees. Everything was as slick as before with the pigs roasting by 6.00 .This meant that we were going to be ready well in time for the midday serve. We had to make sure that the Hog Roast Andoversford pigs were large enough but also easily cook-able in the time slot.
I actually left the lads after the first hour and headed off for a day at the races. Very unusual for me , but we had bought tickets for Cheltenham festival and being St. Patrick’s day it was going to be fun. We arrived well before the first race which gave us time to have a bite to eat and a bottle of bubbles. It made sense to indulge first before I lost money on the horses. About which I know nothing. However it was to be my lucky day, I had a winner on the first race. I was up, not for long. Full of confidence I lost on the next two, but won on the fourth. At which point I stopped. I convinced myself I was evens !! Ahem….
Anyway the Hog roast was another great success and maybe we will be needed again…
