This year for Pure Offices the numbers had gone up, and that is always a good sign.
We set up in the same location and the caretaker was on hand to ensure that we had everything that we needed. By about 6.00am the pig was roasting and so all that was left to do was to put the gazebo up and relax. This venue is on the south side of Oxford virtually opposite the Mini factory in Cowley. It is certainly a busy part of the world, but like anywhere if you are early enough you miss all the traffic. I have a feeling that there were a few people that had lost their usual parking spaces. Not really much we could do except apologise and smile politely. Everybody was fine and happy to see the Hog Roast Cowley, a small price to pay. Robyn and Di popped out to say ‘hello’ and as before were relieved that we had everything under control. Pure Offices are a company that rent out space on a daily basis and of course for more long term lets. They were certainly busier, although they had had a fire in one of their blocks – a domestic appliance had caught fire. We served at just after midday, ready for the big queue. This time it was all very steady and orderly. We did slightly more than last year. Once we had finished we already being praised for our hard work and even talk of us helping next year. A great result.
