It was the end of September and the season gradually slowing up. Fortunately bookings for our hog roast are still coming in for October and November.
I had set up a pre event meeting in July just after they had booked, it was for a 21st party for Immy in Farthington.
The menu involved Canapés on arrival to be served around the Teepees. The party was all being held across the road at the local pub in Farthington. With everything agreed and alterations confirmed the day was set.
We had a great team for the event and so it all felt a lot easier. Fortunately the weather was glorious and so it made all the preparation easier. Something that I always forget is how early it gets so dark. Fortunately we had lots of lights, but there was quite a trek to the marquee. Things were very posh with a carpeted walkway.
Guests arrived although there was clearly no rush and timings slipped as guests chilled. It was wonderful to see everyone in black tie and long dresses which was most fitting for the occasion. The service was on platters and there was plenty to go round – Hog Roast and roast Sirloin of Beef. The dessert followed with individual chocolate tortes on a crunchy base… For us there was all the washing up!
However, all under control and it was a swift clear up and then off back to base.
