The day started with the inevitable drive down the M40. This time it was to junction 4 and off to Stubbings.
Stubbings is a beautiful family home, and there is plenty of garden space to set up a marquee the venue has glorious space and a wealth of trees that speak volumes of time and history. We set up at 9am and got straight on with cooking the Hog Roast. There were to be nearly 180/190 guests at Stubbings Hog Roast and so we had an extra-large pig, some 65 kg. The Groom and friends attended to the last minute details ensuring that all would be perfect for the bride!! Once we had done all our preparation it was time for a break. The bar staff arrived and it was time to liaise with their team on layout and what needed doing.
Service at the wedding was slightly early and very chilled with guests drifting up slowly. The serve time was due at 4, however guests were back at 2. On this occasion a good friend was doing all the bar work.
It was soon time to starting clearing in preparation for the cheeses and wedding cake, this time provided by the client. It was a welcome cue to clear all our items and make for a measured exit. We were soon back on the M40 heading home for quick unload and get ready for a 3.30 start the next day.
