Well after a well earned holiday it was soon back to work.
This is now the sixth year of this event which is not bad considering it is a private Halloween party.
The timings were all the same despite all the children getting older. I soon discovered that this was because of the World Cup Rugby final a, not far from where we used to live.
The house is tucked away down a cul-de-sac in hog roast Gerrards Cross.
As always the house was adorned in some very scary Halloween bits and pieces. The set was as usual and it hardly seemed a year had passed The decorations were more elaborate with new additions and rob was fearful that a new garden shed would be needed to store everything.
It was not long before everything was set up with plenty of offers of help. Once it was all on and in place I helped string up the donuts for a kiddies game later. I also somehow got roped into sweeping the large patio area. I suppose anything so that I could watch the Rugby.
All was set . However this year because of the workload I was having to cook the children’s sausages on the barbecue and so sadly I sacrifice watching the rugby!! However it was a bit of a forgone conclusion. Everything was set for 6.15 serve as booked. Soon guests arrived in a multitude of costumes, very scary.
The hog roast Gerrards Cross was soon raised and kids were tucking into the sausages and adults were reminiscing of last year and that it was still the best (despite having tried others during the year !!).
The piñata was still going strong as a packed up and the fireworks whizzing was my usual exit cue.
Hopefully I’ll be back for next year.
