This was an interesting day. The event was a party at Peasemore. The journey was very simple – straight down the A34. This event had taken a while to put together with many questions, decisions and slight hesitation. Their regular caterer was not available and therefore using another was not what they had intended. I eventually got the right menu and overall style.
It was only at the last minute that I was told who the client was, although my wife knew immediately who Alex Cameron was. Yes the brother of the Prime Minister. I had visions of getting a chance to raise a question! I don’t think so. Fortunately he was in the Far East dealing with far more important matters.
The day was particularly unpleasant for a hog roast in Peasemore, and so it was definitely wet weather gear. We arrived slightly early and I trundled across the lawn to the rather interesting marquee. I was greeted by Mr & Mrs. Cameron who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We sorted out the set up and immediately got the gazebos up and ensured that we were well protected.
The menu was delicious Cotswold Lamb, Marinated Prawns on skewers, and also our delicious Pork Chipolatas that we get from the pork supplier.
All was ready on time and set up in the marquee and the party began. It was basically for staff that worked at Three Raymond Buildings at Gray’s Inn.
Yes it was a great day in Peasemore and a great pleasure to be hog roasting in a beautiful setting and being part of a wonderful family day as well as a work do.
It was made even more satisfying that we were likely to be invited back.
