The Defence Academy is a venue Hog Roast Swindon have been to many times with a multitude of different events. This is a remarkable place where there are officers from all over the world. The set up was outside Robert’s Hall which allows for some wonderful views across Wiltshire.
The event was for team building with various activities, touch rugby, tug of war and few other games which were out of site. We were looking after 220 military personnel once they had done all their running and jumping. Fortunately the weather was kind and the wind was not too bad for a change. In fact it was a glorious afternoon, one of many recently. In fact we attracted a lot of interest from some Saudi soldiers who were interested in Beef and Lamb, being so impressed with the party set up.
As it turned out the teams all finished early and soon hit the bar which was adjacent . We were again asked for an early start. As it turned out we were early setting up and so we obliged, which attracted great praise of our flexibility.
Hog Roast Swindon were soon up and running and soon realised that after about half an hour people were going round again and again . In fact one hungry fella managed four visits which he was proud to tell us.
Well we managed to get through all the meat and rolls which was over 250. I guess that’s the typical of the British Army.
Soon all was clear and Hog Roast Swindon were on the way home heading back through the quaint towns of the Cotswolds, Burford and Stow on the Wold.
A great day and indeed back there again for a wedding this weekend.
