With weather like this, there’s really only one thing for it: a garden party! If you’ve got the space for it and the weather is nice, then we at Hog Roast Oxford have got the dining for it!
You need only ask the lovely Lily and Ben who brought in the Hog Roast Oxford team as the catering extraordinaire for their massive garden party. A guest list totalling up to a 100 friends and family members, it’s no wonder than Ben and Lily came looking for one of the few caterers that could handle the occasion.
Our dining is perfect for a sunny day out in the garden. We specialise year round in roasted pork and other meats, as well as adding that skill into gourmet barbecue menus, southern slow roasts, al fresco prepared antipasti platters and more. For this garden party event, it ended up being a mix of our signature hog roast with a few bespoke additions, including some accommodations made with the 25 or so attending kids in mind.
Head chef Craig was into the Hog Roast Oxford kitchen just before midday to get preparations underway for our pork roast. With the spit style, a typical cooking time is around 6-8 hours, depending on the size of the pig and just how crispy we are looking to make it. As we like to have everything ready on the dot and provide the authentic spectacle of our hog roast cooking at the event, we have to start the process prior to then be finished off thanks to our mobile hog roast machines once we are on site. This meant Lily and Ben’s garden party got the spectacle they were after from our hog roast without a lengthy 6 hour wait just looking at it.
Adding to our menu: grilled veg and halloumi skewers, gourmet sausages, fries, plenty of bread rolls and wraps, and an assortment of refreshing salads, slaws, and sauces. Chef Craig also made sure to bring along additional finger rolls so that the kids could make up their own hot dogs as they liked them. A little bit of fun for the kids along with some good eating for them too! Never say we don’t cater in more ways than one!
