Having already this year worked alongside Jeremy Clarkson’s team to cater at Clarkson’s Farm for The Great British Farm Fest, Spitting Pig and the Hog Roast Burford team have joined Clarkson once more as we catered for a staff party at the famed The Farmer’s Dog Pub, owned by Clarkson himself.
This was not our first time at The Farmer’s Dog either, having catered for events there previously. Evidently, our locally reared, stylishly made authentic hog roasts have made quite the impression on the TV star and his staff, as once more our catering was called upon to cater for yet another special staff party. And when they do staff parties at The Farmer’s Dog – as we have well learned – they go all out!
Not only was our catering on hand (which we’ll tell you far more about in just a moment), but staff were also treated to a free bar, a sweet section, ice cream, and a live band performing right the way through with some top hits from the UK. That’s just about everything you could want for an all expenses paid staff party – along with our world famous hog roast, of course! As much as it was a job for us, with all of that around us, it was also just as much a joy for the Hog Roast Burford team to be a part of as it was for the pub staff.
For our part, we of course had our prized hog roast on show. It is what Clarkson and co have continually come back to us for, loving the authentic spit style in which it is made, and its place as a home reared local produce. Head chef Craig then furnished our pork roast with homemade sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, fresh apple sauce, and further accompaniments of seasonal leafy greens, creamy red cabbage coleslaw, and plenty of rolls and wraps to pile the pulled pork high in.
It was just the menu needed for such an extraordinary event. Our thanks from the whole Hog Roast Burford team to Clarkson and The Farmer’s Dog Pub staff for a brilliant event to cater for, and to the live band for providing the perfect soundtrack for all of our cooking!
