Welcoming a little one into the world is a valuable thing. Truly one of life’s great miracles, it is well worth shouting about and celebrating at any opportunity you can get. That is why baby showers exist; a baby shower is the opportunity for expectant parents to be “showered” with gifts and congratulations from friends and loved ones. It’s a great event that is full of love and joy, and of course plenty of anticipation and excitement for the coming due date.
Last weekend the Hog Roast Rickmansworth team had the pleasure of joining Olivia and family for their baby shower. One hundred guests were due, so Olivia figured the best option for dining was to come a professional caterer in the area. Knowing our reputation and that we can handle 100 guests with ease, she chose Hog Roast Rickmansworth.
We couldn’t have been more excited to join for the celebrations. We’ve had a few young ones come up through the Hog Roast Rickmansworth family through the years. Seeing someone else get to go on that journey is a delightful thing, so we were delighted to be included as part of the celebrations.
With such an important event we knew we would need the menu to match to the occasion. As ever, our hog roast more than sufficed. Prepared in the traditional spit style, our hog roast has a habit of coming close to stealing the show — though nothing was ever going to take away from Olivia and the little one to come. The team prepared our hog roast along with its typical servings of crispy golden crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and fresh apple sauce. With that golden trio you’ve got the crunch, you’ve got the added flavour, and you’ve got just a bit more tang and freshness to add to your roast!
We also then prepared marinated chicken thighs as an added meat addition, grilled veg and halloumi skewers as a veggie option, salad sides, roasted new potatoes, and plenty of bread rolls and wraps to mop everything up with. It was just the feast needed for such a great event.
